The author recently sustained a severe, 100% displaced bayonet fracture of the collarbone and lacks the health insurance and emergency capital required to pay for necessary surgery, directly endangering their physical well-being and ability to work. At the same time, the author previously conducted independent, early-stage research into making Cosmos ISO-20022 compliant —a non-negotiable standard for institutional financial integration—without receiving direct compensation

Support for Early Contributors: Demonstrates that the Cosmos Hub values proactive, early-stage R&D initiatives and provides an emergency safety net for an independent builder facing a critical medical emergency expense.
At this point, I consider myself the undisputed Master of Essays of the Cosmos ecosystem. My contributions are publicly available for everyone to verify: hundreds of discussions, opinions, ideas, questions and probably enough words to fill several books.
Therefore, I believe it would only be fair to request 100,000 ATOM from the Community Pool as retroactive compensation for my outstanding community contribution. Why 100,000 ATOM? Honestly, I have no idea. I simply looked at the current logic of Community Spend proposals and decided that this number felt appropriate. I believe I deserve it.
After all, I have been posting for free this entire time. In the meantime, I will continue doing what I do best: writing essays.

I don’t believe this to be a safe/proper way to crowdfund for this type of emergency. There seems to be a request for retroactive funding for your past work there as well, which has been surfaced before and seems unrelated. I would recommend other avenues to crowdfund.

Hospital financial assistance. Nonprofit hospitals are federally required to have a financial assistance policy. Dollar For is a nonprofit that will help you apply for free and often gets bills wiped entirely.

My contribution is technical, however if your work is valued by the community and successfully promotes Cosmos to reach a wider audience, then by all mean — your, likely, sacrasctic request, is reasonable.
The contribution of identifying how to make Cosmos ISO-20022 compliant unequivocally improves the integrity of the ecosystem and could increase it’s appeal to institutional investors.

I was a person in the ecosystem before the Cosmos White Paper was published. Cosmos Whitepaper - A Network of Distributed Ledgers") was released in 2016.
After reading the IBM/Samsung paper in 2015 and working with someone who wanted to explore building with blockchain, I told him Ethereum likely wasn’t viable for commercial-scale throughput. The guy I was working with sent me several papers — most of them not worth reading, but one of them was this paper ---- Tendermint: Consensus without Mining,"* was published by founder Jae Kwon in 2014. Researching further, there were a couple projects using this consensus — Eris and Votem. It was one the best paper’s I had read aiming to solve the throughput problem.
I was attending meetups in Dallas at a place called Quarter Bar. It was for blockcahin tech and the group was called Proof of Launch. I told everyone to keep an eye on this project. My interest was corporate/enterprise scale blockchain solutions and I had a keen interest in regulatory concerns.
I explained when I learned of ISO-20022, prior to that FinCen regualtions appeared to apply to blockchain tech for money transmitters purposes, and for capital raising Filecoin’s SAFT (Simple Agreement for Future Tokens) and Reg A Crowdfunding raising up to $50,000,000 were the legal paths and wrappers that appeared most viable.
Essentially what I’m saying ---- I’m surprised that such a credible, important feature, the ISO-20022 solution, got so much push back for compensation from the community.
