Title/subject says it all.

Cosmos Hub has been halted at approximately block **33,086,740** for hours. Users cannot move ATOM, send it, sell wallet-held ATOM through normal routes, claim rewards, delegate, undelegate, or conduct ordinary on-chain transactions. Staking rewards are not accruing while block production is stopped.

Yet somehow, on the **official Cosmos Hub forum** , there is virtually no prominent communication explaining what is happening.

That is frankly embarrassing.

I should not have to piece together the status of a blockchain in which I have substantial capital invested by searching third-party infrastructure status pages, exchange notices, validator posts, Reddit discussions, and scattered reports while the Hub’s own official communication channels remain conspicuously quiet.

According to public reporting from validators, this halt is a coordinated safety response to fallout from the **Neutron/Astroport governance incident**. If that is accurate, then ATOM holders who had absolutely nothing to do with Neutron or Astroport are now unable to access normal functionality on Cosmos Hub because of an incident originating elsewhere.

Fine. If stopping the chain was genuinely necessary to protect state integrity, explain that. Most reasonable stakeholders can understand an emergency security measure.

**What is not reasonable is the communications vacuum.**

Where is the official incident notice?

Where is the technical explanation?

Where is the status of validator coordination?

Where is the recovery plan?

Where is the estimated path toward restart?

Where is the explanation of whether any Hub state, validator keys, staking balances, governance functions, or user funds were actually endangered?

Where is the clarification of why an incident involving Neutron/Astroport required **Cosmos Hub itself** to stop producing blocks?

And perhaps most importantly: **when should users reasonably expect access to their assets to be restored?**

This ecosystem routinely discusses institutional adoption, capital markets, expanded ATOM utility, improved tokenomics, and attracting serious long-term capital. Then when the actual Hub stops functioning, users are left scavenging across the internet trying to determine whether their assets are safe and when the network might work again.

That is not how infrastructure seeking institutional credibility communicates during an operational crisis.

Security incidents happen. Software fails. Exploits happen. Emergency shutdowns may occasionally be justified. **Silence is a choice.**

I am not asking for marketing language, damage control, vague reassurances, or another generic weekly update. I am asking for basic operational professionalism:

**What happened? What is affected? What is being done? Is Hub state safe? What needs to occur before restart? And what is the current recovery status?**

ATOM holders, delegators, validators, developers, exchanges, and businesses relying on this network deserve that information **now** , not days later in a retrospective postmortem.

If Cosmos Hub expects people to commit meaningful capital to this ecosystem, then communicating clearly and immediately when those same people suddenly lose the ability to transact with their assets should be the absolute bare minimum.

I would have to only agree with what you have written here. I share this since Exodus uses Everstake as their validator. This was stated on X

"_The Cosmos Hub itself is not affected. The network halt is a coordinated safety measure. Your delegation with Everstake remains safe, and no funds or staking positions are moving while block production is paused. There is nothing our delegators need to do at this time. Our validator remains healthy and fully ready to resume signing once the network restarts. We are in close contact with the Cosmos Hub team and other validators and are following further instructions to coordinate the next steps.
We’ll share further updates as more information becomes available."_

But to halt ATOM Holders for this incident throughs me with spiraling questions as well. Now, since we have no control over a decentralized network, {ha} we wait… Lets just be positive and say that the good will resolve and correct the issue.

I can’t see my atom balance on dashboard or mintscan?!?! Is this part of the halt or did I lose my funds in the exploit? WTF is going on?

Tristan, if you’re comfortable sharing your receiving address (that receiving address is public), I can check for you if you would like. I’m in Florida.

I appreciate the offer although I will have to politely decline as the issue has been resolved and everything is back in order! I had very little information as I don’t use socials. I just needed to have some faith and patience haha

What’s funny is @cosmoslabs’s own Head of Partnership Mr. Ian Kane has repeatedly emphasized how downtime is unacceptable for institutional users. This incident shouldn’t have occurred if @cosmoslabs paid a bit more attention to the Cosmos ecosystem instead of total negligence. A huge embarrassment to say the least.
