Proposal (Idea): Cosmos Community Hub — Incentivized Staking, Governance Participation & Reputation Layer (Powered by ATOM)

Introduction

This is not a formal on-chain proposal (yet), but a community-driven idea shared to spark discussion, feedback, and hopefully adoption by builders, DAOs, or aligned stakeholders within the Cosmos ecosystem.

The core vision: to strengthen Cosmos Hub’s community foundations and unlock long-term value for ATOM by creating a unified platform that connects staking, governance, incentives, and reputation — all in one place.

Problem Statement

Despite Cosmos Hub’s robust staking and governance system, community participation remains low:

  • <10% of delegators vote in most proposals.
  • No meaningful incentives for active governance contributors.
  • No way to measure or reward long-term contributions on-chain.

This leads to weak engagement, underutilized governance, and ultimately slows Cosmos Hub’s growth and the value accrual potential of ATOM.

Proposal Overview: Cosmos Community Hub

The idea is to build an official or community-endorsed Cosmos Community Hub, featuring:

  1. Simple access to staking & governance
  2. On-chain reputation layer
  3. Incentives for active governance participants
  4. Community leaderboards & NFT recognition

This would be a user-centric portal, integrating multiple tools into a single experience.

Key Features

  1. Unified Governance & Staking Interface
  • Easy access to stake, vote, view proposal analytics
  • Integration with wallets: Keplr, Leap, Ledger, etc.
  1. Participation Score / Reputation Layer
  • Tracks voting history, proposal engagement, and activity
  • Generates a “Governance Score” or “Reputation Rank”
  1. Incentivized Rewards (via Community Pool)
  • Periodic token rewards to delegators who actively vote
  • Projects can use governance scores for airdrop criteria or whitelisting
  1. Soulbound Reputation NFTs
  • NFTs awarded to active community members based on milestones
  • Non-transferable, identity-linked recognition
  1. Leaderboard & Contributor Recognition
  • Highlight Top 100 governance participants
  • Spotlights for proposal authors & community leaders

Who This Needs

This is just an idea — not a finished product. I’m putting this out to invite:

  • Developers (UI, smart contracts, backend)
  • Funding bodies (ICF, ATOM Accelerator DAO, etc.)
  • Community for feedback & support

If any DAO, contributor team, or aligned group sees the value, I hope they pick this up and bring it to life.

Expected Impact

  • More ATOM locked via increased staking
  • Stronger governance legitimacy with better voter turnout
  • ATOM becomes central to community reputation and airdrop utility
  • Better synergy between users, builders, and Cosmos governance

Closing

I’m just a community member sharing an idea that could benefit all. This isn’t something I can build alone — but I believe it’s worth doing.

If you’re a developer, DAO member, or ATOM holder who resonates with this — please discuss, improve, or even lead the charge.

Together we strengthen Cosmos — from the bottom up.

Finally we come to this subject! I am delighted. The idea seems coherent. I am just wondering if we should force people to necessarily link with their wallet or let them choose. I am thinking of a hybrid system in which, if we link with the wallet, we can initiate systems of tips, super likes, visibility of certain posts, sharing on paid networks etc. thanks to txs via the Hub, All this in addition to what you propose in your first post. This would not prevent people who are fans of privacy from remaining in the shadows and still participating, and unlocking premium functions for those who link. I would be happy to continue thinking about this proposal with the community.

I really like your hybrid approach, it strikes a good balance between privacy and engagement. Giving users the choice to link their wallets, whether custodial or non-custodial, opens up many possibilities.

Those who connect can unlock premium features like tipping, super likes, post boosting, and integrations with paid networks via the Hub, all without excluding privacy-minded users who prefer to stay anonymous.

We could even explore lightweight options for social login–based custodial wallets for newcomers, while still supporting non-custodial setups like Keplr or Ledger for advanced users.

This layered model can help onboard a wider range of users and strengthen the ecosystem.
