Hello Fellow Cosmonauts!
The Atom Registry is proceeding along fairly well with the smart contracts deployed on our custom Cosmos SDK Atomos Chain to power .atom domain registrations.
Yeah, the problem with these projects seems to always come down to usability since no one ever provides the tools to actually build and view Web3 domains. We did it, though, with the standalone Atom Browser.
The Registry itself has onchain DNS, metadata, and social proofing, too, of course, along with reverse lookup and building a custom federation protocol that will hopefully become the standard on the Cosmos Hub.
This is a privately self funded build so no big promises that never get shipped. Actions speak louder than words and if the Atom Registry succeeds, it’s due to the fact that it doesn’t need investors hyping it up just a solid product built instead.
It’s close on to ready for beta testing and to that end, anyone who wants to pop the hood and kick the tires, maybe take it for a spin, there will be a limited batch mint ran early next week for the tire kickers to get a free .atom domain.
The search function for the browser is built with Ecosia. (We’re tree huggers!) It’s fully functional now but will see updates periodically with the next move being full Kepler wallet integration. The Chrome and Edge Extension is in testing, too and will be released in the near future.
It’d be awesome to get some feedback on the project and with the understanding that it’s not going to be received favorably by everyone. Still, it is a solid addition to Cosmos s feel free to ask about grabbing your own free forever .atom domain.
Thanks!
PS. I didn’t post the website link or images because it’s preferable that the admin’s say its ok first.
