Hub Unit Report December 2025

Background and Context

The Hub Unit includes Cosmos Labs (coordinating community and ecosystem growth) and Hypha Co-operative (technical operations for the hub). These monthly reports are shared to keep the community informed on progress and timelines of Hub initiatives. The report for November can be found here.

ICF Delegation Program (December update)

The Hub Unit and ICF are aligning on the final implementation details for the updated delegation program.

Expectations:

  • The program is now expected to be implemented in mid January.

  • More detail on the selected validation and the new process will be shared in an upcoming blog post.

  • Small reminder for validators to join the Cosmos Hub Validator Channel on Telegram, DM @RoboMcGobo for an invite.

Stargaze

The Stargaze marketplace and NFT collection remains on track and is still scheduled for February. In addition, the STARS token is expected to be migrated at a later date with the timeline of this happening around Q2 2026.

Both Stargaze and Cosmos Labs continue to meet bi-weekly to ensure a smooth transition migration. Updates from these meetings will be posted here. The community is also encouraged to keep an eye on Stargaze’s twitter account.

Cosmos Hub Technical Work (Hypha)

There were no upgrades or incidents this month. Hypha continued their on-going maintenance. Which included removing: x/telemetry module.

Hypha’s work on tokenfactory continued throughout December; they began unit and integration testing in pre-audit preparation..

Tokenomics

Cosmos Labs has published an RFP for tokenomics research firms to support a data-driven redesign of ATOM’s economic model.The RFP is live (posted December 12, 2025) and Cosmos Labs is actively receiving proposals. Proposal deadline: January 15, 2026 (with the option to close earlier if enough qualified applications are received). Summary of what the RFP covers:

  • A 3-phase scope: Research & Audit, Analytics & Modeling, and Community Activation & Governance support, with firms expected to own phases 1–2 and support phase 3.

Note that the January 15 deadline is only for the receipt of the proposals. No concrete tokenomics plan will be announced until research begins. Proposals are expected to be reviewed in the following week, with one or more tokenomics researchers to be selected shortly thereafter.
