We’re back with another Hub Unit Update to close out February. This month saw some major milestones hit the chain, from the ICF delegation overhaul going public to Tokenfactory going live on mainnet and Stargaze’s migration just around the corner.

Let’s dive in.

Background and Context

The Hub Unit is composed of team members from Cosmos Labs (handling community and ecosystem growth initiatives related to the Hub) and Hypha Co-operative (handling technical operations for the Hub).

These monthly reports are intended to act as a primary source of information and updates on the Hub Unit’s progress to help increase transparency between the team and the community on timelines and broader ecosystem initiative progress. ICF Delegation Program

The Interchain Foundation (ICF) is rolling out an overhaul of its ATOM delegation program. This redesign reflects months of internal review and a clear desire to better align incentives, support high-performing validators, and strategically empower partners who help grow the Cosmos Hub and broader ecosystem. As part of the first cohort 13,500,000 ATOM will be delegated across 74 validators.

ATOM has been unstaked as part of this delegation process, and is due to be redelegated to the new validator set in 1-2 weeks. Read more about the selected validators and the migration process here.

Stargaze

The Stargaze migration is set for this week! The migration timeline is as follows:

  • March 17: Snapshot of collections and addresses on Stargaze chain
  • March 18: Migration begins
  • March 19 - 20 migration is completed and trading goes live
  • March 27- April17: Four weeks of brand new collections on the Cosmos Hub via the Stargaze Arrival Event

Tokenomics

We are in the final stages of tokenomics research vendor selection and will share details on the selected vendor and scope of work at the earliest opportunity. We anticipate the research engagement will begin before the end of the month (give or take 1-2 weeks).

We will not be able to share the proposals from non-selected research teams due to pushback from some of those teams, but we will share the proposal from the selected team once the selection has been finalized.

Cosmos Hub Technical Work (Hypha)

February was a productive month for the Hypha team, highlighted by the mainnet release of Tokenfactory and continued progress on ICS deprecation.
