Yes it must depend on the proposal type
If the proposals are for Grant type let it be for 14 Days and if the proposals are non-grant type vote periods must be of 7 Days

As far as I have understood the new Governance module should enable this.
We have been talking about it for Osmosis, where incentive updates can pass governance real quick and smart contract uploads or chain upgrades need to take longer (for example).
I think for the Hub it is the same, but I have not seen too many votings where the outcome is small in effect. So imo going shorter than 7 days is not advisable. 14 days minimum, and more high profile votings maybe even 21 days. And only going shorter if the new delegation policy shows that governance participation goes up, then we can make the times shorter.
