Restoring the Balance of Cosmos: Vote of No Confidence for Grace

Restoring the Balance of Cosmos: Vote of No Confidence for Grace

Summary

This proposal seeks to reverse the appointment of Grace (Cosmos Nanny) to the AADAO Oversight Committee due to her detrimental impact on the community and its operations. Her tenure has led to the dissolution of AADAO and crippling of ICF, a toxic work environment, and the departure of valuable contributors. We call for her immediate removal and extend an apology to those who suffered under her leadership.

Rationale

Since Grace’s appointment:

  1. Toxic Leadership: Her actions have created a hostile environment, stifling collaboration and growth.

    • forum.cosmos. network/t/sunsetting-atom-accelerator-dao-aadao/14791
  2. Organizational Collapse: The AADAO and ICF have been dismantled, erasing years of progress.

    • www.mintscan. io/cosmos/proposals/952
  3. Loss of Talent: Key contributors, whose expertise was critical to the Cosmos ecosystem, have resigned due to her management style. She should not manage but rather focus solely on providing oversight.

    • x. com/syedchoudhury/status/1840764624746037704
  4. Unilateral Rule-Making: Grace has been using Twitter and informal “kangaroo court” tactics to impose arbitrary rules, bypassing established governance frameworks. This undermines transparency, fairness, and trust in the decision-making process.

    • x. com/gyunit_/status/1840927577701023910
  5. Public Manipulation of Internal Matters: Grace has repeatedly disclosed sensitive internal DAO matters in public forums, leveraging external pressure to influence internal decisions. This behavior compromises confidentiality, discourages open dialogue, and creates a culture of fear, where contributors hesitate to raise concerns due to the risk of public shaming.

Her role as an oversight member was intended to ensure compliance, transparency, and community representation. However, she has overstepped these boundaries and caused widespread harm instead.

Proposal Actions

  1. Immediate Removal: Revoke Grace’s position on the Oversight Committee.
  2. Reversal of Decisions: Nullify all actions taken by Grace that negatively impacted the AADAO, ICF, and the broader Cosmos community.
  3. Apology to Affected Parties: Issue a formal apology to those impacted, acknowledging the damage done and committing to better governance practices.
  4. Review of Oversight Practices: Initiate a comprehensive review of Oversight Committee roles and responsibilities to prevent future misuse of power.

Voting Options

  • YES: Support the removal of Grace from the Oversight Committee and the actions outlined above.
  • ABSTAIN: No strong opinion but wish to contribute to quorum.
  • NO: Oppose the removal and the outlined actions.
  • NO WITH VETO: View this proposal as spam or against the community’s best interests.

By supporting this proposal, we aim to restore integrity, rebuild trust, and re-establish a healthy environment for innovation and collaboration within the Cosmos ecosystem. Together, we can correct this course and ensure the Cosmos community thrives.

This proposal is scheduled to be submitted for Cosmos Hub Governance voting on December 6, 2024.

I disagree with this in so many ways. Specially:

  1. Reversal of Decisions: Nullify all actions taken by Grace that negatively impacted the AADAO, ICF, and the broader Cosmos community.

Removing Youssef was the right thing to do, and all the DAO agreed with it. With the sunsetting of AADAO she will effectively be removed from her position and the new DAO that might take over would have a different structure anyway, so the goal of this proposal seems to mainly be to get Youssef his old position.

The fact that you use an anonymous account speaks volumes of why Oversight is sorely needed on this type of organizations. You can’t have bonuses and incentives decided by the same people that receive them.

I’ll acknowledge that Grace should’ve been more diplomatic in her work and the fact that the DAO decided unanimously to disband because of her seems like a negative comment from her co-workers in the DAO, that’s enough on my end as a critique on her work.

Not productive. Any perceived negative behavior doesn’t need to be met with more negative behavior. Don’t put this on chain.

Will echo @luisqa @tknox35 sentiment and this direct quote:

@restore_balance joined 6 hours ago to try and bring a valuable contributor down? Who is this “we” you are speaking on behalf for?

Any perceived, and personal, differences aside RE “style,” Grace’s contributions as Oversight has been nothing but net positive for the Cosmos Hub. Where has she “overstepped?”

Wow, sounds like Grace is doing a fantastic job. AADAO should be shut down. Been a real sweet gig for some folks doing nothing for 4-5 years but nothing this “good” lasts forever.

this sounds like something syed would write, lol.

atom price action speaks volumes, you can put a marker in the chart with the news from all the actions grace has done and see how the price goes up and also add when the current aadao team decided to leave it and see the price going up

this speaks louder than any cheap narrative anyone wants to peddle in a forum.

stakeholders/asset holders are showing their support for Grace work

lmao this is such a coward action too, create a new account just to post this and then attack the postive results, lol, without actually providing any true metrics that show that her actions are hurting anything except the pockets of the aadao current team and specially syed

cheers

Lols. Can confirm it’s not me - they just used my tweet.

I like to think I can convey my arguments better…and be more factual! (e.g.“…ICF has been dismantled…” - that’s not true at all)

Thought you’d know this @BHIKTOR!

What part exactly should be confidential?
It’s a community owned / funded DAO.

Do you mean it should remain confidential when Joni ‘miscalculates’ numbers that would benefit his pockets?

sorry i confused the names of Youssef and Syed!, i meant Youssef

Posting this from an anonymous account rather than from an account that has a post history here itself kinda speaks volumes here.

Wonder who is “we” here, it’s quite easy to say “we” from an anonymous account, pretending there are multiple parties, but if so, I’d rather want to see a list of people who proposed this.

That aside, I disagree with that proposal in so many ways and would vote NO as well pretty much because of the reasons voiced above, the comments above are saying it better than I would.

Anonymous retard makes anonymous retarded thread. Nothing more nothing less.

I’m sorry to see that you’ve reached the point of resorting to using pejorative slurs. I know you have a better vocabulary, and honestly, I thought you were better than that. I was clearly wrong. I hope you’re okay mentally.

Wonderful thread. Can we get this taken down now? Useless drama.

I can’t think of a worse idea. @Cosmos_Nanny has been a pillar to the community, a true representative in a political system marred by special interest groups.

Very rarely can I say that someone has the best interest of another in mind. With @Cosmos_Nanny, I know 100% that this is true.

Without @Cosmos_Nanny, the Cosmos Hub would’ve overpaid AADAO’s GM by 80%. @Cosmos_Nanny has earned our trust as a community, and to vote no confidence would be a tragic misstep for the Cosmos Hub’s future.

@Cosmos_Nanny is an asset to the Cosmos Hub that we should not soon forget or remove from our ecosystem.

I am 100% against this motion.

@rmalakaib

I 100% agree with this.

And on top of that, what signal would we send if we also reversed the passing of proposal 952?
The community expressed no confidence in the ICF. You can’t just change that just because you obviously have more of a personal problem with Grace.

IF (!!) we did that, we could just wrap it up because governance and community would mean absolutely nothing to us.
