Identify scams (phishing, etc.)

Hello everyone,

I am for the first time here and not sure it has ever been discussed / proposed and can be realized somehow, my search did not bring up a proposal and I am not sure how often this happend on the past, but …

Yesterday a low amount of Atom got sent by this address cosmos16a87dpmkutsfx7cddxt749urv62nkcajmr8nw2 (and maybe some others?) to multiple accounts in one shot with the Note:
:bell: You have been allocated 50,000 $ATOM by COSMOS DAO, claim now on ( …. atomgifts….)

Searching the internet I could not find confirmed what I believe which is that this seems to be a phishing attempt for atom users 12 or 24 words account secret pass phrase with the target to steel, not to gift Atom users.

Would be good if such scam accounts could be identified and marked somehow to warn users about it …

Everything is possible if funding is available. Basically no projects are funded unless you have the validator cabal as friends.

I could create a scam/risky API that Keplr could integrate, or you could directly query. Would check the tx for links, keywords (claim, gift, airdrop, etc.), addresses that send out dust tx’s, and more. Honestly this isn’t something I’d do for free though. I’d recommend reaching out to Cosmos leadership: @Mag @bpiv400 if you think this is a serious problem or the Keplr folks. If money was ever allocated to this effort I’d be happy to do it. Otherwise, you’re left to your best judgement.
