Orderbook Style Dex

Hi All!

If anyone has a custom asset for listing, I’ll be bringing my Cosmos Dex build online for testing.

Thanks!

I was amazed to learn that an orderbook dex trading client didn’t exist on Cosmos Hub natively.

Do you know something i don’t yet? orderbook on the cosmos? that only makes sense if trading is intensive and professional, is something coming? or is this just experimentation? :crossed_fingers:

Well, there are many things that can’t make sense if the tools don’t exist.

I’m not hyping Cosmos when I say that modular stack blockchain is superior, it’s just a fact. That’s what Cosmos has done extraordinarily well. What has been missing is committed development and I mean to contribute to that in a big way. I am posting another update I think you’ll like.

Thanks!

BeeZee network (BZE) has an order book DEX. And following the next release in about 2 weeks will allow the usage of any IBC coin to be used as fee toke if it has a decent LP with BZE.

We could setup an IBC connection and a LP ATOM/BZE and with that build an UI on top of it for Cosmos Hub so people can use it exclusively with ATOM. There are people building with Cosmos SDK that can provide new features, not everything needs to live onnthe hub itself.

For longevity, a direct to hub deployment is necessary. That aside, different projects equal different goals. I’m more interested in building tools that will be of a direct benefit to the Cosmos economy so all gas fees will always be in ATOM.

That’s the EVM-wise approach. Cosmos was meant to be an internet of blockchains, connected with each other. And yes, ATOM can be used as fee token and the UI can be built to use only ATOM, no other fee token.

There are pros and cons for both approaches. But ATOM was never developed to be Ethereum or Solana, but the opposite. The fact that we fail to leverage ATOM everywhere is a different story.

For what I define as the crisis of affordability, it’s the only survival centric relevant story. It is also true that most projects fail to leverage ATOM and it is that fact that propels all of my ATOM fee’s first (and only) builds. Projects that don’t directly contribute to Cosmos Hub in gas fee’s forfeit any real incentive for ATOM holders to use their products.

ATOM fails to leverage ATOM, not “most projects”. Projects do their best for ATOM, or at least did every time.

I appreciate your relentless work you put in lately, don’t get me wrong, but let’s agree to disagree. We both have better ways to spend our time than going back and forth. Congrats on the work! I wish you nothing but good luck, I think you’ll need it. Development is not enough. Some people are so lazy to even vote on a simple proposal, I find it hard for them to actually support something… anything.

Oh my! I should apologize to you for coming across as argumentative. I was enjoying the interaction and if I was being rude, I am sincerely sorry.

You didn’t, not at all. I was afraid I was going to sound aggressive that’s why I decided to stop before starting. We have different views and opinions which is totally fine.

Great direction. Cosmos has had strong technical foundations for a long time, but it’s been missing tools that actually drive user activity. An orderbook DEX on the Hub is a step toward more advanced trading and stronger utility for ATOM. Initiatives like this are exactly what can turn technological potential into real adoption.
